Victor Stuart-Graham
Trained as a graphic designer, Victor Stuart Graham took an MA at the Royal College in Textiles. Since then his work has taken many diverse forms, from teaching to painting municipal railings. He principally known for driftwood boats.
He uses soft, worn woods decorated in reds, blues and greens to create the appearance of trawlers and pleasure boats. They are not naturalistic, but carry tiny details - metal anchors, portholes and messages coded in seafaring flags. Many of his boats are wall mounted, but some are free standing. He also makes rows of cottages.
