Janet Halligan graduated from Stourbridge College of Art in 1970. She lived and worked on the South Coast until 1984 when she set up a workshop near Nantwich. Trompe I'oeil ceramics such as bags and shoes are slab-built and glazed using a range of stoneware glazes and metal lustres. There is also a developing range of hand-built vessels featuring some of the elements found in the realistic work such as buttons, laces and zips.
She is a Professional member of the Craft Potters Association of Great Britain.
